Sparky's Schoolhouse
While we currently do not offer a set curriculum for in-person classroom education for preschool to second-grade classes, we are excited to introduce you to an exceptional resource that will meet your needs: NFPA’s Sparky Schoolhouse.
Sparky's Schoolhouse is an interactive platform that has been specifically designed to cater to the needs of preschool teachers and their young learners. This dynamic resource offers a comprehensive collection of lesson plans, engaging activities, captivating videos, and more – all centered around fire safety education. Preschool teachers can now access a wealth of tools that are both educational and entertaining, ensuring that fire safety lessons are memorable for their students. Below, we have listed some of our favorite lesson plans for this age group!
- Digital Book: How Much Do You Know About Fire Safety?
- Preschool through Grade 2 Curriculum: Learn Not to Burn
- Interactive Storybook: Sparky’s Birthday Surprise
Engine Demonstrations
In addition to Sparky's Schoolhouse, educators can elevate learning through hands-on experiences through Engine Demonstrations with SMFR firefighters. Designed exclusively for students aged 4 and above, our Engine Demos offer a thrilling opportunity to engage with real firefighters and get up close and personal with a fire truck. Learn more and schedule an Engine Demo.
If you have additional questions or would like to request an educator for a specific event or classroom initiative, please fill out our request form. We will do our best to accommodate requests depending on staffing levels and availability.
