Engine Demonstrations & Station Tours

An engine or medic unit demo brings fire and medical crews to your location for a hands-on look at the apparatus and equipment. A station tour allows you to schedule a visit to a local fire station for a chance to see what it's like living at a firehouse!

ThinkFirst: Attn Parents of Teen Drivers!

Join ThinkFirst for a free, self-paced educational video on teen drivers and their risks. After viewing the video, you'll have an increased awareness of teen driving risks and preventive measures to avoid risks, a greater understanding of Graduated Driver License Laws (GDL), tools available to monitor and enforce GDL compliance with your teen driver and an understanding of the importance of being a positive and supportive role model for your teen driver.

License to Survive Seminar

This FREE seminar is offered to parents and teens who are ready to start the driving permit process.

Hands-Only CPR Challenge for High Schools

South Metro will be visiting all participating high schools in February to practice Hands-Only CPR with all students and staff. This is intended to empower our young community members to step up should the time come to save a life.

There are a variety of Fall Prevention Classes offered in Parker and Littleton through AdventHealth and ThinkFirst programs.

CPR, AED & First Aid

The South Metro Safety Foundation offers American Heart Association-certified classes that cover adult, child, and infant CPR/AED and First Aid. This one-day class is ideal anyone who wants to learn CPR/AED and First Aid.

Stop the Bleed Class

4 Million People Have Learned to Stop the Bleed, and you can, too! The American College of Surgeons Stop the Bleed program has prepared nearly 4 million people worldwide on how to stop bleeding in a severely injured person.

3rd Grade Fire Safety Class

The program teaches children and families the different sounds a smoke alarm makes and what to do when you hear them, the most common causes of home fires, and how to plan and practice a home fire drill with everyone in your family.

This 45-60 minute class is currently only offered to 3rd grade classes in schools in South Metro's district.

Senior Safety Saturday - September 20th

Join us for an informative and engaging event focused on safety skills tailored for older adults in Arapahoe County. Whether you're an older adult or caring family member, you'll gain valuable tools to help stay safe and prepared together. September 20th, 2025 from 9am-2pm Lunch is provided.

Free Car-Seat Inspections!

The South Metro Safety Foundation and South Metro Fire Rescue are pleased to offer courtesy inspections of child safety seats and booster seats for families that live or work in our fire district.

These inspections are held almost every Wednesday
from 10am - 2pm at

South Metro Safety Foundation

The South Metro Safety Foundation offers frequent classes and resources for a variety of topics for our community members.

Some of the classes offered include: - Hands-on Defensive Driving courses taught by First Responders.
- Caring for Older Adults - information for caretakers (both in an official and unofficial capacity) to better care for their aging adults.
- CPR, AED & First Aid - AHA-certified classes that cover adult, child, and infant CPR/AED and First Aid.

SMSF also provides Car Seat Inspections, and AED's are available for purchase.
